A Brief History of RC Warship Combat in California and Nevada
We've been battling boats in Northern California and Nevada since 2001! We are a chapter of a national organization, the IRCWCC, which has been around since 1978. A lot of technology has changed over the years, but the fun and friendship has endured! Our models are built to 1/144 scale, so most ships are between 3 feet and 6 feet in length with 1-7 firing cannons. We waterproof the items that shouldn't get wet, like electronics, and we ensure the rest of the hardware can endure being surrounded by water with a little maintenance. We take safety very seriously, as even though the guns are low velocity (think airsoft fast) they can still hurt, and that's not fun at all, so many rules are in place to prevent any kind of accident. The ships are quickly patched after battle with paper and waterproof glue and back in action in a half hour.
