For Battles at the Wilson Commons Park, we set up to the far right of the pond at 9 with first sortie scheduled at 10. Second Sortie scheduled at 11, followed by lunch. Afternoon battle scheduled for 1:00 with second sortie scheduled for 2:00. These times can of course vary though the day as captains encounter problems (or not!) Battle Area is the cove to the right of the Gazebo, the water gets very deep beyond this area. If you are in danger of sinking head for shore to make recovery easier. The water is refreshing with a mostly hard sand bottom until it gets about 40-50 feet from shore where it is softer (and deeper). Pack a table, chair, water, snacks, safety glasses, and water shoes. There is an ADA porta-jon on the north side of the park. Lunch is typically hot dogs courtesy of the mini grill. CO2 is provided, donations of $5 per boat that battles is appreciated. Spectators and photographers welcome! (Please bring Safety Glasses if you can)
For Battles at Railhead Park, we set up inside the fence around the pond between the two soccer fields at 10 with first sortie scheduled at 11. Second Sortie scheduled at 12 with lunch afterwards. Afternoon battle scheduled for 1:30 with second sortie scheduled for 2:30. These times can vary through the day as captains encounter problems (or not!) Battle area is the entire pond. The water is about 6 feet at its deepest in the middle with a rocky bottom. If you are in danger of sinking head for the shore to make for an easier recovery. Pack a table, chair, water, snacks, safety glasses, and water shoes. There are restrooms. Lunch is typically hot dogs courtesy of the mini grill. CO2 is provided, donations of $5 per boat that battles is appreciated. Spectators and photographers welcome! (Please bring Safety Glasses if you can)
